Gael Monfils wins Stockholm Open title

Gael Monfils beats Jarkko Nieminen 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 in the Stockholm Open final on Sunday.

French Davis Cup

Guy Forget, the French Davis Cup Captain announced on Tuesday his selection for the Davis Cup tie between Germany and France. Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Mickael Llodra and Gilles Simon were selected. The tie will take place on July 8th, 9th and 10th in Stuttgart. Gaël will remain there the week after to take part in the Mercedes Cup tournament (ATP 250) where he will be the Top seed.

Updates

Hello everyone,

Good news, I have just received the results of the allergy tests I had following my withdrawal in Madrid last month. The tests and their analysis concluded that I had food poisoning and excluded any link with the consumption of cheese. I am now extremely relieved.

Following his left wrist injury contracted in San José, Gaël is due to resume tournaments the week of April 11th in Monte Carlo for the first Masters 1000 on clay.

As part of the launch of the video game Virtua Tennis 4 by Sega in which he is featured, Gaël will be in Paris on April 29th to meet with the fans and media and test the game.

Guinot / Mary Cohr Masters

Gaël has confirmed that he will take part in the Guinot / Mary Cohr Masters at the Paris Country Club the week before the French Open. He will play there an exhibition match to master his preparation before the 2^nd Grand Slam of the season.

Food that cannot be named! I am working hard on my diet at the moment.

Nelson Mandela is a big influence and my parents are too.

Turn on my iPod!

My semi-final at the French Open but I am definitely looking forward to beating this one.
